>Currently on 'One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich' by Solzhenitsyn.

To the best of my knowledge it was the first literary work about Gulag 
published in the Soviet Union. I also hope to read the whole of 'Gulag 
Archipelago' one day, which is a tough read from what I've been told, not in 
terms of the language and style (it's a documentary book anyway) but due to 
the sheer extent of the atrocities real people had to live through described 
there. One person told me: 'don' t read it unless you want to lose faith in 
humankind altogether'.
