If you are expecting Blood Meridian, you may be disappointed. It's much more
stripped-down, bleak, and concentrated. As if McCarthy dropped Blood
Meridian in a pot to boil away all of the excess fat, then laid out the bare
bones to bleach in the cold sun.

Very, very bleak. And also, a quick read.
