NP: Trotsky: last known photograph?

I assume that is the pre-cremation image. Thank you for letting me
know. Would love to see his last living photo, but this is still
something I sort of wanted to see.
I have very mixed feelings about Trotsky. He appears to me to be a
"moral tyrant" if you will - sort of how Machiavelli present The
Prince with a moral mindset (if it's not, indeed, a satire - anyone
have an opinion on this? The intro to the penguin classics edition
alludes to this and his other writings seem to support the
plausibility of it as does the conditions of his writing it, but I'm
not convinced). Every tenth man, to be sure. But done not out of
hatred or fear but what appears to have been done out of dedication to
an ideal. I'm not sure. He seems to me to be the most interesting
figure in Russia during his lifetime, however. If Stalin had lost
that power struggle I'm not sure what I would think. Perhaps I'm a
sucker for the underdog.
