I respect your opinion, but beg to differ. For me it was entertaining and
full of (ok,ok academic but still) life. As for Rushdie himself, in last
books his 'liveliness' is boring, hackneyed and pretty dead.
So far nobody has supported Eco in this interesting argument. Oh, mine is
the voice in the wilderness! Are there any Eco fans?
