Definitely NP, here, but I think K&C was boffo fantastic stuff.
Smart, engaging, -- the kind of book that creates its own world
within a history we all already know and makes you believe in it.
Chabon, I think, is the kind of popular writer who there should be
more of on the bestseller lists. He's easy to read but he's no
panderer -- and his stories carry you as much as the writing. He's a
relief from the self-consciously GREAT writers who don't let you have
that FUN Henry was talking about earlier today.
