Pynchon's Son a Big Man on Campus

The connection I make is  simply that Pynchon, of a
family with deep American Establishment roots, lives
on Upper West Side, along with a few other people like
that, as far as I could tell when I was visiting my
little brother at his house there earlier this year. 
I don't think too many starving artists or low income
immigrant families are buying places to live on the
Upper West Side, but maybe I'm wrong and somebody will
correct me.
