ATD - Sales

I still say the marketers are doing a pretty good job
if they're actually selling a product that's not even
available yet, and I don't mean that sarcastically,
just to be completely clear.

When you consider the remaining 3 or 4 million books
or however many it is that sit below Against the Day
in the Amazon sales ranking, most of which will do
well to sell one copy for each member of the author's
family, ATD's sales ranking is impressive, and I
credit first of all, dedicated pynchonoids everywhere
for buying their man's book and, second, the publisher
for investing the funds and other resources necessary
to make Pynchon's book available, and, finally, the
Marketing Staff, for getting folks like Mr. Carvill to
do their job for them and thus generating buzz and
book sales.
