I agree. Although everything is clouded in mystery, it seems that they did
move the date to fit in with the schedule of NBA, and quite possible that
they had received AtD galleys or whatever in advance and maybe even had a
chance to read them. If it had to do with the late publication date that
Marianne might have evinced some regret that unfortunately due to the fact
that the publication of AtD blah-blah-blah. Guesswork anyway. But I do know
that at some European lit. prizes they accept even manuscripts, i.e. a pile
of unbound typed pages. They never forgave him Corey.
