Amazon.co.uk finally has a picture of the English edition of AtD. The cover
is practically the same - it doesn't have the 'torn' corners of the American
edition, though. The mysterious red seal also seems a bit clearer on the
picture of the English edition. See for yourselves:

As with most of Pynchon's novels - Vineland being the only exception -
Jonathan Cape is the publisher. Note, by the way, that the English version
is only 960 pages long. I seriously doubt that Cape cut 160 pages from the
novel (or perhaps they wanted to get back at the Americans for cutting
Lawrence Norfolk's Lemprière's Dictionary so ruthlessly?), so I guess that
the English readers can prepare themselves for severe eyestrain.
Hmmm - should I go for the American edition and strained armmuscles or the
English edition and strained eyes? Heck, I'll go for BOTH!
