You Gotta Love...
    ....talking animals.  With a young child at home, Pynchon probably got a different take on talking animals from the one that reflects his appreciation for cartoons, or Gabriel Garcia-Marquez and "magical reality".

Thanks, davemarc, for reminding us of the substantial
feats of organization and more or less structured fun 
Pynchon-l has and can again facilitate for a new
Pynchon novel.

I've promised not to tell any specifics, but reports
from  a person I know who's now reading ATD is that
it's killer, indeed a novel to "single up all the
lines" of the earlier books. 

*Lots* of talking animals, of course, and even several
nods of the head to Pynchon-l and pynchonoids
everywhere, including a nasty aside to p-listers who
don't mind their manners.

NOT!

The previous paragraph, that is, not the report that
ATD is killer.
