ATD sighting/Spoiler-ish--opening lines

Agree. So far with section headings, first line, hydrogen balloon, etc.
we've only had stuff that we'll all find out immediately on opening the
book. But anything else, especially broad brushstroke stuff such as themes
etc. should definitely be clearly marked with a Spoiler Warning.

For my part, I'll be dropping out fairly soon - my wife is about to give
birth, so I'll likely end up reading great swathes of ATD-related p-list
posts in retrospect. Even so, I'm guessing most folk around here will prefer
to go through the book itself in relative isolation, maybe arranging a group
read later on?

As for Pynchon singling up all his lines for one last big book, I reckon
this is 50/50 speculation. I hope this won't be his last book of course, but
ealy signs seem to indicate it's going to be a good one. Still I can't
imagine a writer like Pynchon 'retiring'.........

Cheers
JC
