When in doubt, use a SPOILER WARNING, please, if the
info you are going to share might spoil anybody's
first-time enjoyment of the book. This method worked
very well when people started getting and reading
Mason & Dixon here. I forget the exact timing, but it
seems I remember that there was a period when
everybody was reading it, then we launched into the
exceedingly well-organized group reading that now
graces the p-list archive. Heck, even McMullen
contributed major substance to the MDMD, maybe he'll
be enticed to start doing that again.
I'll be using the http://pynchonoid.org blog for
various purposes and will include reports from advance
readers of ATD.
The good news is I expect to get my hands on an ATD
ARC tomorrow evening - joy!
John Carvill, and others with babies and youngsters or
about to have: read Against the Day out loud to them,
they may not understand it fully but you'll have a
damn good time and I can't imagine anything but
positive impact on the kids, and try not to get too
far away, I expect it's going to be fun reading and
annotating this novel as a group.
post-ironically,
