Pynchon and Music

One of my favorite music references in Pynchon has to be the sodium amytal scene from Gravity's Rainbow, where the narrator notes Charlie Parker's moment of rocketing into the musical stratosphere of "Ko-Ko" as Slothrop chased his "harp" through the sewers of Harlem.
