Steampunk for Pynchon Readers

Hi Ya Sam,
what comes first to my mind is "The Difference Engine" by Gibson&Sterling, if you are after a novel. With "Steampunk" it is IMHO likely the same, as with "Cyber Punk", it transcends media, one will find Steam Punk items in novels, comix, movies, computer games and so on. For example Alan Moores comic books  "The League OF Extraordinary Gentlemen" are excellent Steam Punk to me. Have you seen the movie "Kreshern"? It has some strong steam punk items in it, although I wouldn´t boil it down to steam punk in its´entirety. Steam Punk, like Cyber Punk, to me is Pynchon related, due to a combination of sci fi, humor, everyday life and kink.
