Aha, now we're getting somewhere: 'Poorly edited' seems to be the key phrase 
here. I agree that one shouldn't automatically include all previous posts in 
one gargantuan chunk - some editing does indeed seem necessary, and perhaps 
we should all put an extra effort into this. The original request, however, 
was that we should simply refrain from quoting earlier posts at all, and I'd 
still argue that this can put certain obstacles in the way of effective 
communication. But so does forty inches of previous replies, of course. So - 
excluded middles are bad shit, to be avoided, and perhaps we can all find 
some common ground between not including previous posts and including all 
previous posts.
