Reading out of place

I've always thought that one Dickensian aspect of P's writings (if one can equate Dickens and Pynchon stylistically) is the frequency and creativity of pub names in their works. Each author seems to enjoy creating quirky pub names and, if I had my druthers, I'd attempt to list the names in all their works.
That'll be my first project when I retire in 17 years.
