Dylan vs. Pynchon

I saw Dylan in Roskilde. I stood in the middle of the third row,
but still BD looked so far away. He blended into the scene. He
tried to hide behind his harmonium as well as he could. The edge
of his voice & lyrics also vanished into the grand general sweep
of the band, a great tapestry of Americana. The arrangements
differed from the original recordings to the extent that on many
occasions I had to tell the tune (the great majority of them were
from the 1960s) to the Danes around me - and these young men and
women were genuine Dylan fans...
