Yes, the fonts are different, and the shadows get successively bigger.
As far as the schemata or symbolism or significance of the lettering
... yes, palimpsest ... echoes ... magnification ... self-reflection
... reverberation ... resonance ... harmony ... harmonics ....
Mise-en-abyme ....
But back to front, or turned inside-out.
At first glance at the larger image on the computer screen it looks
like a battered and dog-eared and slightly discoloured book dust
jacket. And so, "it's a hardcover galley of some sort," you think to
yourself. But the improbability or paradoxicality of that assumption
fairly quickly dawns, and it occurs that it could be just the image of
a dog-eared and discoloured dust jacket rather than an actual one,
i.e., it is trompe l'oeil, a photograph of a book dust jacket which has
been printed on the actual dust jacket and then scanned onto the
Internet at Amazon.com ....
Like, say, a painting by Magritte. Or Kramer's 'Coffee Table Book'.
Or it's like a wrapped parcel, much the worse for wear, with that weird
quasi-Oriental or Middle-Eastern or Aztec or Incan-languaged stamp or
rubric in the bottom left-hand corner (opposite to where it would
"normally" be)... the hooves of masked Pony Express Riders clattering
away into the distance ... a package in transit, vouchsafed (via the
Trystero) ....
