New Mark Danielewski book out

What a priori dismissal? I heard somebody say
something about not having any great writers to look
forward to, and I suggested a return to the classics.
The really good ones offer something new every time.

Sometimes good books do get missed the first time
around, no doubt. Since thousands are published every
year, finding the good ones is a challenge.

You can't go wrong reading bestsellers that have sold
millions of copies, generally, they usually have
enough of a story hook or something good enough to get
all those people fired up and reading for fun and
buying copies to give to their friends, etc.

new/old

both/and

I still believe most new books that come out are not
worth reading, a personal opinion you may question as
you wish, but I wouldn't call it an a priori
dismissal, since I continue to check out new books
before deciding not to read any particular book.

They could have been wrong, I guess, depending on
which books they were ignoring for which reasons. Lots
of fine novels have been published since GR. But if
you're having a hard time finding something to look
forward to, again I suggest a return to the classics.
