All of the above, plus, in all cases, telepathic
contact with the author to determine whether or not
there's a mind reflected in the book that I want
anything to do with.

I often purchase and read new books, usually on a
friend's recommendation.  But, when all is said and
done, I choose not to purchase most new books that are
published, because most of the ones I know anything
about don't interest me.
