New Mark Danielewski book out

I've always been surprised by the number of people with decent literary
taste who heap praise upon it. I enjoyed the gimmickry but found the
prose too poorly, awkwardly, clumsily written, especially the
first-person pov sections. It feels much like the first novel it is.
Unless the first ~150 pages are not characteristic of the rest (that's
about all I could tolerate).
