That's right, both/and.  We read new books and classic
books, most of the people here at Pynchon-l, an
eclectic list judging from the books that people
mention.  It's a good place to get ideas for books to
read. 

And I still think most new books aren't worth the time
and trouble, but I don't let that stop me from reading
new books when I find an interesting one.
