Oh I get it: sentences that start out in Kansas but get weird. Here's
the opening of Barthelme's "The Balloon":
"The balloon, beginning at a point on Fourteenth Street, the exact
location of which I cannot reveal, expanded northward all night, while
people were sleeping, until it reached the Park."
