AtD--How Does it Fit

pynchon gets kudos from helping the author of Castles of Steel--the naval
arms race b/w england and germany before the Great War--I suspect they'll be
something about dreadnoughts and the like; the time period most conducive to
include something of japan may be the russo-japanese war of 1905--famous
defeat of russian navy by the japanese at Tsushima that year
