On the crap TV show, The OC (my daughter insisted she was only watching it because her friends watch it -- not much of a defense), there was an episode where Paris Hilton, playing herself, says she has to leave a party early because she needs to work on her doctoral thesis on Magical Realism in the works of Thomas Pynchon (or something like that). Someone on the writing staff has a sense of humor, anyway.
