Saunders' novel?

 Don't want to stick my oar in but, well, I think it's a bit rich, you
being so patronising about this, when your near-perpetual bitching about
jbor obviously takes up more bandwith than a simple enquiry such as this
ever will. At least this was actually about Pynchon... I've never seen
that quote so it's actually a far more interesting read for me than the
immature squabbling of (supposed) adults...

And I know the above is totally hypocritical of me, but what the heck. I
don't give a toss about bandwith, personally.

You see, it's not at all difficult - this Internet thing makes it pretty
easy to answer that sort of simple question, doesn't it. Just takes a
moment, then you could save the bandwidth for questions that haven't
been answered a million times here. Checked the archives?
