But, at least you're asking the right guy to sum it
up.  The other guy just makes up a new story each
time, and it's not even very good writing - you know,
that turgid academic style of prose that doesn't
communicate very clearly, especially when teetering on
foundations of fuzzy logic and fabricated
"evidence"...

If Pynchon-l was a wiki, we could just slug it out in
successive edits, but since the posts come down the
pipe chronologically, it may be necessary from time to
time to follow a  load of persiflage with a cleansing
flush of fact. 

Some folks are concerned with this matter, some 
scholars who write and publish about Pynchon, some
others.  Your mileage may vary.

I'm doing it For The Children, don't you know? The
Children of the Future, who, when they come knocking
on the Doors of Truth, Justice, & the American way,
will have a Hope in Hell of taking away a Balanced
Picture of the strange affair of RJ & the Playboy
