I dunno enough about Dee to say, but have you ever
read Aegypt by John Crowley?  Apparently John Dee
figures quite prominently in it and the sequels (Love
& Sleep, Daemonomania, and the one that Crowley is
having a hard time getting published, since the first
3 are all out of print.)  I haven't read it myself,
but it's been near the top of my "To Read" pile for a
while.
