That's what I intended to imply.

Actual physics  is TOO real for Pynchon's methods (whatever his  
ultimate purposes and meanings, which may be quite serious).

Better to play up  Riemann, which is only the math.

Just as the totality  of WWII was too real for GR.

Better to focus on the rocket and the zany side shows.

The way I tend see it anyway.
