Sloat Fresno

Sorry if mentioned before.

I've been re-reading Borges' 'The Garden of Forking Paths' and my AtD 
possessed mind immediately reacted when I read this sentence: 'El tren 
corria con dulzura, entre fresnos'. I didn't know the meaning of the Spanish 
word 'fresno' so I checked it in a dictionary, turned out it means 'ash 
tree'.
Look what they say in wikipedia:

In Norse mythology, the World Tree Yggdrasil is commonly held to be an ash 
tree, and the first man, Ask, was formed from an ash tree (the first woman 
was made from elm).
