           Some pundits posit as a general guideline, i.e., not 
           100% of the cases, that whereas Jews spell it with 
           a "K" (Kabbalah, etc.), Christians tend to use a "C" 
           (Cabala, etc.) while the occultists tend towards the 
           "Q" (Qabalah, etc.).

So you've got this concept that appears to branch off into three 
different directions depending on the spelling of each term. Sounds 
kinda like quarterninions if you ask me. If nothing else, we will have 
a subtle little signifier to consider, depending on the spelling that 
Pynchon chooses to deploy for K/Q/C/abalah in "Against the Day".
