The telegram is a less esoteric method of communication than oysters
or other methods in AtD but Nate is a less esoteric animal.

and I was relistening to this section this morning and thinking about
what Robin said that in this book all communication of the usual,
material variety is totally non-productive - in other words, "a
waste."
I laughed out loud at the mini-mart and foax turned to check out the
peculiar little old lady with earphones.
I'm sure there is a whole lot more about wasted days and wasted
nights, wasted words and wasted lights in this book. (Music never
goes to waste - for those who know, it's the only true form of
art.) I read AtD very quickly, too quickly, the first time and it
sure is better the second time around. Now I need to crack that
good old "Crying" book again and refresh my recall. "Vineland"
wouldn't hurt. But I'm not up to GR again, not yet. Maybe in July
when I'm stuck in the house with 110 d F. heat.
