ATDTDA (7): 195-196 plotline

This section introduces Deuce Kindred's sidekick, Sloat Fresno. If 
we'd been wondering how the weakling Kindred can be any kind of 
muscle, we now know. It's thanks to his double-size henchman. We 
learn about their reputation as a team, a little of their history, 
and it becomes clear that Deuce is the brains and Sloat is the brawn. 
Deuce's ability to hypnotize has a downside: empathy ("...it always 
got emotional somehow."

We get to see a glimpse of Webb imagining Deuce as family, thinking 
about setting him up with his daughter. As Deuce senses the depth of 
Webb's Anarchist fervor he wants to hit up the Company rep for even 
more money. But when they cross paths, he is shooed away. (The rep 
doesn't want to even be seen together.)
