Those two pages address the issue of Edenization vs. the reality of  
the mess quite explicitly. It's in my hosting section, so we'll get  
into these points in detail end of May. I do not equate Pynchon's  
silence (at times) on these matters as a lack of acknowledgement.  
Often what he does not mention draws attention to those issues and  
the complexity of them rather than vice versa.
