While I'm never sure that my opinions are representative of 'what  
is,' I am certainly in agreement with you on this point.

Actually, what I like about Pynchon is that he doesn't seem to claim  
any final answers regarding 'what is.' So, I didn't think you were  
trivializing Pynchon's art until your last sentence.
