Pynchon really is the master of the sentence. I noticed many of the
reviewers of ATD mentioned this, and I agree. My favorite sentence from ATD,
so far, is the life story of Edwarda Beef/Vibe, from pp160-161. It's like a
whole Victorian novel in a sentence - from marriage, through break up, to
diva, with scandals, maids, and musicals thrown in.
