Borges's best ?

I totally agree.   Collected Fictions" is a compendium of 515 pages 
of stories with translation notes after that.  It's organized very 
systematically but don't read it cover to cover - read it section by 
section starting with the 8 stories in "The Garden of Forking Paths." 
Most of the sections have a little forward and/or afterward by 
Borges.   Wait a month or so and  then browse and dip and go back for 
another section.   This is very rich, heavy and delicious dessert 
here - not to be eaten in one sitting.
