Tristero
XL Recommended - Tristero: Yes, this sprightly, rootsy guitar pop band
is named after the McGuffin in the middle of 'The Crying of Lot 49,'
for which we can forgive them. This is a release party for their
'Winding Sheet' EP.

>From myspace.com/tristeromusic:
Maurice Chammah and Danny Cohen concieved of Tristero as a musical
project with them as the only two constant members, an outlet for
material more serious than the songs they had been performing with
their former band, Swingin' Charlie.
Soon enough the fluctuating membership grew to include Dylan Blanchard
(also formerly of Swingin' Charlie) on drums, Nick Gregg on cello, and
Jacob Krell on bass.
The band's name is from Thomas Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49, and
that book was a coneptual launching point for the material on their
debut EP, A Miracle is Another World's Intrusion into this One.
