The list seems to include multiple books, of varying quality, by various novelists. I'm not sure The Grass is Singing collection of short stories is one of the greatest books ever written, although The Golden Notebook certanly is. 2001: A Space Odyssey might have been one of the greatest movies of all time, but it's pretty mediocre as a book. Better to include Childhood's End, if Arthur C. Clarke must be on the list. Fortunately, no one's required to take this list to heart.
