a) you mean that video wasn't authentic? oh, well --
at least then I'm not intruding...

b)  although Slothrop and Cyprian tend to plumpness,
and Reef has a beer-belly, every description of Pynchon that I've
read that was written by people who met him has --
(tortuous syntax alert: klaxon and rotating red lights)
umm..how about,
so far as my reading has informed me,
everybody who's met the guy says he's on the lean side.

c) I can't do a photoshop myself, so I have no standing to
criticize, but I kept seeing it as a Cubist thing, where the
round upper nostrils were left over from the youthful face,
and the more ovoid, lower set, partially obscured beneath
a slightly hooked nose, represented where age had moved them to.
