That's because the sense of entitlement presumed by Boston's public servants
is unequalled across the nation. This is one of two states in which cops
MUST provide "details", where every other state employs flag people. A
statie of my acquaintance once suggested that detail pay on the Big Dig was
an ongoing insult at $40-$50/hr, when "sandhogs" were getting more......

This was not an "crisis" - it was a 'spontaneous revenue center'. I bet they
mobilized at least 10 of those $500,000 mobile command center Winnebagos,
and their attendant fleet of pilot fish....


It will only get more expensive when some court finally orders the city to
pay those arrested damages.....and I recommend the Boston Herald for those
who want their coverage leavened with acute indignation.
