I just skimmed the clamor article referred to by robinlandseal

A truly Pynchonian story  and well worth reading for the unfamiliar.  
The writer I mentioned was John Loftus who is fully credited in the  
Toby Rogers article. The original research, done as I recall with the  
assistance of a Holocaust research organization, has been updated  
with documents leaked by a Dutch intelligence officer. The correct  
name of the German Family is Thyssen, the name that puts the SS in  
Nazi war machinery. There is a direct tie to Pynchon's look at  IG  
Farben in GR too.
