ATDTDA (2): Headwear in ATD? (pp. 1 - 44)

I figured it's a stylistic thing for Pynchon.  For example, in virtually every Dickens novel major characters are introduced with a physical description first.  It was a way Boz had of giving his readers the image of the character before letting us hear (and enjoy) their verbal tics and quirks.  For Pynchon, I noticed the hats (of all things), which I never really picked up on in the other books.



  Pynchon has a thing for hats.  'Twas ever thus.  [...]
