I bought a copy when it first came out, but have not made much
progress with it (constantly going on to read something else), even
though I have much of the math background from my engineering training.
The book is supposed to have been written in such a way as to
introduce the math step by step to make it understandable. The
paperback version isn't as much as an investment as the original
hardcover, so what the hell -- give it a shot.
