"against" also meaning 'for" in one of the Gospels, at least

Somebody---Otto?---posted this observation and I think it is a profound one in understanding ATD.....can it be found online?

  I have been rereading The Tempest---which has two "cheerly's" and a handsomely in the beginning....In a footnote there is also a meaning of "for"    "for drowning" as "against drowning"....
