I only watch what Marie doesn't turn off. That doesn't limit me too
badly, though: the only difference of opinion that bothered me a bit
was when she threw "Gaudi Afternoon" down the stairs. I had only played
it about 20 times...the musical # in it hits the spot, I thought...

She has splendid taste (oldies like Palm Beach Story, Elvis movies, but
also newer stuff like "But I'm a Cheerleader" (great soundtrack)and "Jawbreaker" that I wouldn't have
given a chance - ) - but the only Lynch she's liked was Mulholland
Drive. (Haven't tried Inland Empire yet, that's not in video so far, is it?)
I myself thought Blue Velvet started slow, so I haven't persisted with it,
and likewise Lost Highway we gave it a try but never got hooked...

Eckshually, thinking moreso since posting, I'm now finding myself tying Lew's crime(s) to those of the evil doctor in "Devil in the White City" - Troth mentioning "one of your wives", for instance -

My proto-thought, though, was how, perceiving Lew and Deuce as one (Icelandsparically) and the novel as cyclical or non-linear-timebound - then the crimes of Deuce near the end come back to the beginning as Lew's --
Lew being an improved or 2nd chance for the use of similar talents

Deuce's spree surely cohabits certain space with Mulholland Drive...
