Far from the epicenter of violence, it's not really our place to tell people what form their resistance should take.  As an individual, Cheney is at least as much a war criminal as Saddam ever was.  I can understand why many Afghanis would consider him a legitimate target, even if the end result was that innocent people were killed.  Had he died, I don't think it's a frivolous or untrue statement to say that many people around the world would not have grieved.
