3 works-in-progress

If memory serves (and I, of course, make no
guarantees), it was a radio interview (ca. 2003?) on
NPR about his book The Birds of Heaven, which I
haven't read.
The other 2 Watson books (Lost Man's River and Bone by
Bone) are quite good, and like the first, they share
with AtD the theme of capitalism (and its discontents)
invading the frontier. They all center on the events
of Killing Mister Watson (I wonder what happens in
that book...), but that novel is written from the
perspective of everyone but Watson, the second is from
the perspective of his grandson, and the third is from
Watson's POV. My personal favorite was the second,
Lost Man's River, but all 3 are good. I haven't read
any other of his works, but I was impressed by the
clarity and depth of his prose. Still, I find it hard
to imagine how he'll turn such wonderful and
individual novels into a single work, but I'll pick it
up if it actually happens.
Sorry, but I'm not a researcher or a scholar, just a
regular schmuck who happens to be a bookworm.
