One thing I should have noted: with one exception
(that I can recall [so far ...]), I've at least tried
not to look ahead in the novel in my notes on its
opening chapters et al., and there's even a "SPOILER
ALERT" there, despite my assumption that pretty much
everybody's by and large finished the damn thing by
now (meanwhile, I haven't even gotten halfway through
yet--I'm curently assuming I will never actually
finish the book, but I have read the last couple/three
pages, just in case, so ...).  I wanted to at least
attempt to get things down as they came to me as I
read through, so ...
