Failed so miserably, the implied-by-cliffhanger, at
very least, sequel (1946, naturellement) was eitehr
never published or never written in the first place. 
Check yr local library/remiander bin ...

In all fairness, though, the Civil War books I haven't
read, by 1945, a stretch of a premise aside (post
Pearl Harbor, the US and Japan go to war, but--and
this COULD have happened, but ...--the States and teh
Reich never quite get around to declaring war on each
other as well), it wasn't all that bad, esp. given how
... tenuous some alternate history SF can be (e.g.,

 Note WWII era jets therein ...

On the other hand, a friend was a grad school
classmate of Gingrich's coauthor, who was, even then,
not only the author of a pretty shabby-looking
militaristic SF series, but an absolutely miserable
aspiring historian in his own right (I read a few
papers he handed in/around back in the day) ...
